Lecture: Introduction -- What is communication technology?

First day of classes.
Key concepts: communication technologies are constitutive, communication technologies are contingent
Examples: Chinese characters painted on a scroll, Egyptian hieroglyphics painted on papyrus, cuneiform script on a clay tablet
