Our group consisted of Megean , Chris J, Jameson, and myself. When we initially began discussing the potential audiences for the projects, we quickly decided different projects would appeal to different audiences. In light of this, we tried to categorize the ideas in the project sandbox so that we could discuss the audiences for each project group. The categories of projects we came up with fit under 1)Cheap Radio Equipment  2)Unlicensed Spectrum  3)Spectrum Use Mapping  4)Television  5)Spectrum Pirating/Enforcement  6)Remote Access. For each category, we discussed the audiences as well as potential methods to reach these audiences.

1)Cheap Radio Equipment

  • Non-Profit Organizations
  • Third World Countries
  • Political Action Committees and Advocacy Groups
  • Educational Institutions
Methods:
  • Website
  • Position Papers
  • Educational Pamphlets
  • Mailing Campaigns
  • Mission Statements
2)Unlicensed Spectrum
Audience:
  • Policy Makers (Both local and national)
  • Educational Institutions
  • Industries
  • Consumers (Education Campaign?)
  • Non-Profit Organizations

  • Position Papers
3)Spectrum Use Mapping
Audiences:
  • Consumers
  • Policy Makers
  • Educational Institutions
Methods:
  • Website

  • Earned Media--i.e. letter to the editor of a national newspaper
4)Television
Audiences:
  • Consumers
  • Industry (Broadcast and Manufacturing)
  • Policy Makers
Methods:
  • Website
  • Person to Person
  • Earned Media
5)Spectrum Pirating/Enforcement
Audiences:
  • Policy Makers

  • Educational Institutions

  • Blogosphere
6)Remote Access
Audiences:
  • Consumers
  • Policy Makers
  • Industry

The audiences we felt reappeared throughout most categories were consumers, industry, and policy makers. While each project will cater towards several specific audiences, these umbrella audiences will likely be targeted in many projects.

For the past several years I have worked summers for Naperville School District 203 in the Administration center. Specifically, I worked in the technology department. Over the years there I worked with wireless as well as wired networks constantly. One summer I installed and configured wireless WiFi access points throughout the school district.  I have a pretty good base for wireless technologies and could potentially get help from some of my employers (many are network engineers).

Other than experience with wireless networks, I am very good at using any Microsoft Office programs and can create/manage databases easily. I'm very good with statistics (perhaps for surveys?) and can do some basic programming.

I own a wireless iPod touch that could be fun to play with...I have a digital camera that takes good quality movies as well. My roommate has a jeep I could borrow to transport people or equipment.

Also I have a Jager machine.....just a thought.

This is a test!

If this were a real entry, really important things would appear here.
