I. I live in a sorority house, therefore there is a lot of old equipment surrounding my house that have been used from our former sorority sisters from past pledge classes. We have in our house what we call open air dorms that are used for girls to sleep in. It is a large empty room that have around 20 bunk beds. It is extremely quite, and noise is not permitted. Outside of the open air dorms is a "wake me board" that we stopped using at least five years ago. It was used when girls did not have personal alarms on their cell phones or other devices and because noise is not permitted in open airs, the alarms have to be silent. What the "wake me board" was, was a wooden bulletin that had all the times to be woken up, with a tack underneath it. For example 5:00, 5:30 , 6:00 would be written and the tack underneath the times would be used to hold a circular name tag with the name of the bed to be woken up at that time. So the girls would take their tag and place it on the time the wanted to be woken up. It's always interesting walking by this because it is very old and the tags were made of paper that is yellowing.
II. Today I found a strange wooden board. It it has points of time neatly written in rows from right to left. Underneath the rows have strange tacks with tags and what seems to be different codes on them. I took off the tags only to find more underneath them until I hit the back which is just the wooden board. The tacks were screwed in tightly to the board and could not be taken out.
III. After being puzzled by this strange board that seems to be at least 50 years old, I finally discovered what it is... It is a time machine that was used by scientists years back! The time on the board what the time that the time traveler wanted to go back to. All they had to do was place the tag with the date they chose written on it and when they placed it, they would travel back to that time and date! The date written on the tags are obviously in some sort of secret code that needs to be decoded. Once they placed the tags on the time slot, they would disappear and so their tags would just be left there. You can still see what time and date each person traveled to before they disappeared! Sometimes they would even travel in groups because their would be more than one on one slot. In Berkun's reading, Myth: People Love New Ideas, the main idea of the reading is saying that it takes a while and is difficult for people to accept new technology. Berkun discusses when Galileo discovered that the sun was the center of the universe, he was criticized by the church for going against their teachings. I believe this time machine I discovered should be taken with caution because it would bring about similar issues with the public. Going back in time will change the world forever and can only be placed in trusting hands. Galileo discovered important information just as I have and he was punished with disapproval, but eventually, his idea of the sun centering the universe was accepted, and I can only hope this time machine will do the same.

By timnaughtonThe post is well written and satisfies all of the conditions in which the prompt is asking except an image. The post lacks an image that is necessary to better understand what this board physically looked like. Even though you gave a very detailed account of the object an image would help. The blog was well written and brought up several good points about this technology. In the post when you cited the Berkun reading you were very clear and concise about how that concept related to your technology.
The structure of the post was solid. You clearly indicated which parts of the assignment you were addressing before the paragraph. The post exceeded the word count significantly, but yet it was still concise and to the point with the exception of part I which could have been cut down. There are some grammatical errors. In this line “So the girls would take their tag and place it on the time the wanted to be woken up. It's always” it seems you forgot the “y” on “they” after time. You also used the possessive form of “It’s” when it should be “Its”. Also, another grammatical error in part III sentence two, you used “what” instead of was. I found no grammatical errors other than these. I thought the post was very engaging and liked the frequent use of exclamation points which made the post more fun to read.
