The walkman is dead because the ipod came out and does the same thing as the walkman but with memory and ability to hold more music and its smaller. People tend to use the newest technology.

The electronics used to make the Walkman were found in 1970 in classified military electronics units and not any commercially available device as is common today. However, the original wasn't made much different or with any particularly different materials even then - gray plastic case, about the size of a medium size cordless phone today. Took 4 AA's to run, and it ate up batteries fast. To get rid of it you can recycle the plastic.

At the beginning of your blog, it would be good to address which option you are writing about. I'm a little confused which topic you were focusing on. I would consider looking back at the assignment and making sure you address Part I, II, and III and that chose one of four options for this assignement. For example, if you are doing topic C, What were the lifespans of the various technologies you have owned? What you said about the Walkman and the iPod is definitely true. Try to find more examples like this. You are going to want to talk about which type of obsolescence caused you to abandon the technology. In your Walkman example, I think it sounds like are saying technological obsolescence caused you to abandon this item since technological innovation caused you to replace the Walkman with and iPod. Information about obsolescence can be found in Slade's article. You have a good start but there are many more things to be addressed in your post.
