Sandvig, Christian
Communication Technology and Public Policy
Christian Sandvig is Associate Professor of Communication (College of Liberal Arts and Sciences), a Research Associate Professor in the Coordinated Science Laboratory (College of Engineering), and an Associate Professor in Media Studies and Communications Research (College of Media) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He studies public policy and the development of new communication infrastructures. In 2002 he served as Markle Foundation Information Policy Fellow at Oxford University. In 2002 he was named a "next-generation leader in technology policy" by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In 2006 he received the Faculty Early Career Development Award from the US National Science Foundation. He holds a Ph.D. (2002) in Communication from Stanford University.
