Kolar, Jeff
New Media and Studio Art
Jeff Kolar is an artist, designer, and BFA candidate in the New Media program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
His work examines the problems, potential, and personal relationships to technologies as an artistic medium. Working with video, sound, performance and computer networks, he develops alternate interaction between humans and 'public' technologies. He has worked in non-profit and community media advocacy, academic research, art gallery practice, and commercial design.
In 2008, he received the Brooks Scholarship for a residency at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Colorado.
